Despicable Me – Minion Mayhem

Hollywood, CA

Overview

Remodel work is not an uncommon occurrence in construction, however, for the same contractor to remodel a project they completed nearly 20 years ago is pretty rare. But that was exactly what KHS&S was asked to do on the Despicable Me – Minion Mayhem project at Universal Studios Hollywood. The project was a thematic “tenant improvement” converting an existing ride, T2 3-D: Battle Across Time, into a new venue based off the Universal movie, Despicable Me – Minion Mayhem. The all new themed facades included creating a neighborhood streetscape with replicas of Gru’s House, Miss Hattie’s Home for Girls and Gru’s Lab Café; all popular scenes in the Despicable Me movies.

SERVICES PROVIDED

KHS&S Contractors completed the interior framing and drywall, tape and finish, monokote, EIFS, plaster, FRP and division10 specialty items on the project.
