Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is home to scientific excellence. Technology and advancements developed at Berkeley Lab have generated billions in revenue, thousands of jobs, and led to 13 Noble prizes. With the addition of the $54 million General Purpose Laboratory to campus, LBNL has the tools to continue this legacy of excellence.

The General Purpose Lab is designed to foster greater collaboration between diverse research groups. The Lab includes “plug-and-play” wet and dry labs for nearly 130 researchers. Office and research spaces are placed adjacent to one another as open workstations invite natural daylight into the column-free office areas. More features such as solar water heating and energy efficient lighting earned the new lab a LEED Gold certification.
