What started as a straightforward project became more complicated when construction was shortened by an accelerated schedule and unexpected steel shortage. But true to form, the KHS&S team worked together to beat the schedule.
KHS&S constructed the exterior and interior of the new 450,000 square-foot facility replacing an existing bingo and casino building at the site and despite the delays, the interior and exterior of the project were completed by two months ahead of schedule.
Using creative value engineering, the KHS&S team saved $1.5 million by using EIFS instead of plaster on the project’s exterior. The original plans called for a time-consuming three-coat plaster process that required lengthy curing times between coats. By using EIFS, KHS&S was able to cut several weeks off the schedule and save on labor and material costs.
