The nearly 500,000 square foot, nine-story, Central Library located in downtown San Diego includes an outdoor plaza and café, 350-seat auditorium, three-story domed reading room, 400-seat multi-purpose room, teen center, 10,244 square foot children’s library, technology center, and two levels of underground parking. Two floors of the library totaling 76,000 square feet will be used for a charter school serving about 400 students.

The new library is seeking LEED Silver certification.

KHS&S completed the interior framing / drywall, insulation, spray-applied fireproofing, plaster, toilet & bath accessories throughout this high profile city project.
